Alternative metal, από τους πρωτοπόρους faith no more, μέχρι τα παρακλάδια του, nu metal, λίγο industrial, λίγο funk, λίγο rap, λίγο punk που "μεταλίζει" από therapy κλπ.
Τη διασκέδασα πολύ τη λίστα αυτή μολονότι πλην nine inch nals, marilyn manson και faith no more, δε μπορώ να πω ότι ασχολήθηκα τρελά με τους υπόλοιπους. Aπό beastie boys μέχρι sepultura (όχι των thrash εποχών του arise), θεωρώ ότι υπάρχει μία νοητή γραμμή που τους ενώνει όλους αυτούς αν κι όχι κατευθείαν αλλά διαδοχικά,
και να μην υπάρχει πάντως, με αποτέλεσμα έναν ακόμη μουσικό αχταρμα,
εγώ το διασκέδασα, αρκετοί μουσικόφιλοι πιστεύω το ίδιο.

5) THE GAME DISTURBED
Αυτούς τους ανακάλυψα πρόσφατα. δεν ασχολήθηκα πολύ με το nu metal όταν ήταν στις δόξες του. Με το που άκουσα τις πρώτες νότες του πρώτου δίσκου, ήθελα να κάνω headbanging. Με το που άκουσα αυτό συγκεκριμένα, χτυπιόμουν σαν έφηβος. Οι στίχοι έχουν πολύ πλάκα, αρκεί βέβαια να μη τους πάρει κανείς στα σοβαρά :)

H ακρόαση της διπλής υπερδισκάρας fragile, εκεί στις αρχές των 00΄s, μου θύμισε παρόμοια συναισθήματα με αυτά που ένιωσα μία 10ετία πριν με τα use your illusions. Οι guns n roses δε συγκρίνονται βέβαια με κανέναν, αλλά αυτή η υπερβολή αποτυπώνει τη κάψα μου με αυτόν τον δίσκο. Ξεχώρισα μες στα διαμάντια αυτό εδω, μην επαναλαμβάνω διαρκώς ότι αποτελεί προσωπική επιλογή.

Hands down, ένα από τα επιδραστικότερα και σπουδαιότερα τραγούδια της ροκ μουσικής, αυτή τη φορά με αδιαμφισβήτητα αντικειμενικά κριτήρια, εκτός βέβαια αν είσαι απ΄τους παλιοροκάδες που θεωρούν της πλάκας ό,τι βγήκε από τα 80"s και μετά! Η ξενερώνει με τα rap στοιχεία. Τώρα ποιό είναι αυτό το it των στίχων, δε γνωρίζω. Μία πρόχειρη ερμηνεία είναι ότι αποτυπώνει αυτό που ο Ζακ Λακαν ονομάζει "αντικείμενο μικρό α",
